I love drawing out the Bride’s sparkle – Which sometimes gets lost in the hussle-bussle of wedding planning! I want her to feel as she once did, and he can feel like he is the luckiest man on earth.
I have a theory about the relationship between the Stylist and the Bride: There is one.
The majority of Brides will schedule a “trial run” for their hair and makeup. This is done about 2 months prior to the wedding. This preview serves many purposes:
1. If a Bride is deciding between several looks, it helps narrow the field.
2. Do we need to make any adjustments ( add extensions, cut bangs, etc)
3. Does the Bride like the Stylist? This is the most important! If the Bride hates the stylists, she will need time to find a new one!
Trust is a major factor. The Stylists are trusted with the final seconds up to the moment when Miss becomes Mrs. * This includes the “boiling point” – When all of the emotions which have been pushed way down – down deep, suddenly surface with out any notice! Like an explosion, the Bride may sudenly be in tears and her new, flawless, makeup application now resembles Tammy Faye Baker ala 1980s. This is not the time to panic – even though… there is water proof mascara now smeared across her face!
The straw which broke the camel’s back is usually funny in hind sight (like when tears ensued because 36 instead of 38 goldfish arrived for the centerpieces) – No laughing allowed – remember TRUST, the 5 letters that every stylist has to uphold. Hair & Makeup Artists may be witness to the emotional craziness and dis-functionality that no one outside of the wedding party/family knows about, and it is not for us to judge, but to simply forget .
We are there to take the harshness away, to create the Blushing Bride.
Let the inspiration begin! xoxoxo,
